Half the recipe and bake in a 6-inch pan if you’re a beginner. I always bake in an 8-inch pan because smaller cakes don’t last more than two days in my family.

Bananas: Use only ripe bananas. I enjoy using large yellow bananas. Bananas can be pureed or mashed into a smooth consistency. If you use mashed bananas, you’ll notice chunks of banana fibers in your cake (as visible in my pictures).

Flour: All-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, white wheat flour, pastry flour, or atta can all be used in this recipe (chapati flour). If you want to make a light bakery-style cake, however, avoid using flour with added bran. Although this flour works, it produces a cake that is slightly thick. Recipe for Banana Cake!

Butter: Unsalted butter is used in this banana cake recipe. I believe that salted butter has a different flavor and freshness than unsalted butter. If you insist on using it, leave out the salt that the recipe calls for.

Baking powder: This recipe calls for baking powder. Baking soda cannot be substituted for it. Please double-check the expiration date on baking powder before using it. Use an aluminum-free baking powder.

Spice: I usually add 34 tsp ground cinnamon to the batter because we appreciate the warm and fragrant fragrances of cinnamon. It’s a delightful blend of ripe bananas and cinnamon. Use it only if you like the taste.

Sugar: Some people expressed their dissatisfaction with the cake since it was too sweet for them. It all depends on the bananas you have on hand and your personal preferences. If you want your banana cake to be less sweet, reduce the sugar by 14 cups.
